Organiser terms

Version 2026-09, published 27 September 2026

The short version: this is your event, run on our platform. You sell the tickets, the money goes straight to your own account, and you are responsible for your event being legal, safe and as described. We are responsible for the platform working. These terms set that out properly, because it protects both of us.

1. Accepting these terms

These terms apply to your organisation from the moment it is created on the platform, or, for an organisation we set up for you, from the moment you accept them, and every person who joins your team accepts them when they accept their invitation. By creating an organisation or joining one, you confirm you have the authority to act for it. You must be 18 or over to create or administer an organisation.

If you ordered raffle tickets from us, we may set up an organisation on the platform for you from that order, with a draft of your raffle, so it is ready if you want to sell online. An organisation set up this way is held until you accept these terms: its organiser pages stay closed and nothing is published or sold. If you never accept, it stays held, or ask us and we will delete it.

2. What we each are

You are the seller. Every ticket, product and donation on your pages is sold by your organisation to your supporters. The money goes directly into your own Stripe account, and your organisation is the merchant of record on every payment. The contract for the event is between you and your buyer.

We are the platform. We provide the pages, the checkout, the tickets, the QR scanning and the reporting. We never hold your money: there is no Stubbs balance, no escrow, and no payout step. Funds settle from Stripe to you.

3. Your event, your responsibility

You are solely responsible for your event and everything about it:

We do not check, approve or vet events, pages or organisations, and nothing in the platform should be read as us having done so.

4. Money

Our fee is 2% of the ticket, product and chip-in money in each order, after any discount, inclusive of VAT, and it is collected automatically as part of the payment. That is the whole of what we charge for the platform. Two things carry no fee from us at all: donations, and raffle ticket sales. A gift is a gift, and a registered small society lottery is yours to run, so we take nothing from either.

Stripe charges its own processing fee on each payment, which is separate from ours. Who pays it depends on the fee setting you choose. On Absorb, your organisation bears it, as it would with any payment provider. On Optional, which is the default, your buyer is offered the choice: if they accept, what they pay is increased to cover both Stripe's fee and our 2%, and your organisation receives the full face value; if they decline, your organisation bears Stripe's fee exactly as on Absorb. On Inclusive, the fee is built into the price you advertise, so it is always covered by what your buyer pays. During setup you accept Stripe's own terms directly with Stripe, and those terms bind you alongside these.

Your dashboard shows your takings and an estimate of what reaches your account. The estimate is labelled as approximate and is not a reconciliation of your Stripe account; your Stripe dashboard is the authoritative record of your money.

5. Refunds

Refunds are yours to decide and yours to issue, using the refund controls in your dashboard. We take no part in the decision.

When you refund, we return our 2% fee in proportion to the amount refunded. Stripe does not return its processing fee, so a refunded sale still costs your organisation Stripe's fee on the original payment. That is worth knowing when you set your refund policy.

6. Chargebacks

If a buyer disputes a payment with their bank and the dispute is lost, the disputed amount and Stripe's dispute fee are taken from your organisation's account, because you are the merchant of record.

Where a dispute is lost, we return our 2% fee in proportion to the amount disputed, because we do not keep a fee on a sale that did not stand. A dispute you win changes nothing: the payment stands, and so does the fee.

7. Your supporters' information

For the personal information your supporters provide when buying from your event, your organisation is the data controller and we are your processor: we collect, store and protect it on your behalf, as described in our privacy policy, and use it only to run the platform.

In return, you agree to:

8. Raffles and lotteries

If you run a raffle, the legal responsibility for it is yours: you are the promoter, you hold any registration your raffle needs, and you run the draw. Where the platform provides raffle tools, they help you keep records; they do not make your raffle compliant, and we are not the promoter of, or a party to, any lottery.

9. The email channel

Ticket emails, confirmations and event notices are sent to your supporters through our email systems. This channel exists so that every organisation's tickets arrive reliably, so it must only carry genuine service messages about orders and events. Marketing dressed as a service message is not allowed: one organisation misusing the channel damages delivery for every other organisation on the platform, and misuse is grounds for suspension.

10. Your team

Two roles exist: admin and member. Money controls and supporter details are only available to admins, enforced by the platform. You are responsible for who you invite, for the role you give them, and for removing people who should no longer have access.

11. Suspension

We can suspend an organisation's pages or payments where we reasonably believe there is illegality, fraud, misuse of the email channel, a serious breach of these terms, or a genuine risk to supporters or to the platform. We will tell you why, and lift the suspension if the issue is resolved. Money already collected is in your Stripe account and remains subject to Stripe's own processes.

12. Responsibility between us

Because the event is yours, your organisation is responsible for claims that arise from the event itself: its cancellation, its conduct, its descriptions, its prizes, its compliance. If we face a claim because of your event or your breach of these terms, your organisation agrees to cover us for it.

Our responsibility is the platform: delivering tickets, recording orders correctly, and handling data as our privacy policy describes. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and our liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Leaving

You can stop using the platform at any time. Your money is already in your own Stripe account. We keep records of past orders and events, as our privacy policy describes, because they are the record of your supporters' tickets and your fundraising.

14. Changes and who we are

If we change these terms, the new version gets a new date and we will tell you. The platform is operated by Stubbs Tickets, a partnership registered in England, at Unit 2c Greenhough Trading Estate, Greenhough Road, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 7AU, United Kingdom.
