The short version: when you buy a ticket here, you are buying from the school, charity or club running the event. We are Stubbs Tickets, and we provide the ticketing service they use. Your money goes to them, your ticket comes from us, and these terms explain how it all works.
Your ticket is sold to you by the organisation named on the event page, for example a school PTA or a local charity. They run the event, they set the prices, and your payment goes directly to them. Stubbs Tickets provides the ticketing platform they use to sell it. We charge the organisation a small fee for this service.
This matters because your contract for the event is with the organisation, not with us. If the event changes, or you want a refund, or something about the event itself goes wrong, the organisation is responsible for putting it right. Our job is making sure the ticketing works.
Your ticket is electronic. After you pay, we email it to you with a QR code that gets scanned at the door, plus a calendar file so the date drops into your phone. There is also a permanent link in that email where you can open your ticket again at any time and resend it to yourself if it ever goes missing.
Raffle tickets are the exception: a raffle ticket is a numbered paper ticket from the organisation running the raffle, not a QR code. Your order confirmation says how you will get it, most often by collecting it from a point the organisation names.
Check your email address carefully at checkout, as that is where your ticket goes.
Payments are handled by Stripe, one of the largest payment providers in the world. Your card details go directly from your browser to Stripe and never pass through us. We never see, store or process your card number.
Some events offer you the option of covering the small cost of taking payment online. This is always optional, always unticked to start with, and declining it never costs you anything.
Refunds are decided by the organisation running the event, not by us. Most fundraising events run a no-refunds policy, because the money raised goes to their cause, but that is their call. If you need a refund, contact the organisation first.
If the organisation refunds part of your order, you get back the ticket price and a fair share of any payment fee you chose to cover.
Because tickets are for an event on a specific date, the usual 14-day online cancellation right does not apply to them. This is a standard exception in UK consumer law for event tickets.
If the organisation cancels the event through our platform, orders that have been paid for are refunded in full, and everyone affected gets an email telling them so.
Two situations work differently, and it is worth knowing which one you are in. If your payment was still going through at the moment the event was cancelled, contact the organisation and they will put it right. And if you have already raised a dispute about the payment with your bank, any money owed to you comes back through that dispute rather than through our automatic refund, because your bank is handling the payment at that point.
If your ticket has not arrived, or something about your order does not look right, and you cannot reach the organisation, use our help page. You do not need your order number. A person reads every message.
You must be 16 or over to buy through the platform.
We look after your details carefully and we never sell them. What we collect and why is set out in our privacy policy, including what happens to any attendee details, such as dietary needs, that the organisation asks for.
We will deliver your ticket by email, keep your permanent ticket link working, and handle your information as our privacy policy describes. We are not the organiser of the event and are not responsible for the event itself, its content, or its cancellation, beyond the automatic refund described above.
If we change these terms, the new version gets a new date and applies to purchases made after it is published. The version you accepted at checkout is the one that applies to that purchase.
